Guy's i'm going to suspend the voting on the new site name due to some impending exciting news which if it comes together will see the site really take off. I can't go into details at the moment other than to say this is very exciting.
I have stated in the recent past and i will state it again here now that i guarantee to you all that neither I nor my site partner Paul will do here to you guys what was done recently on rleague. Thats an absolutely unbreakable promise! And when we're able we will be looking for input from you guys.

Just add and allay any fears this site isn't going away and no changes will be made without community support.

Right ladies and gentlemen i think it prudent to continue with the vote. We are going to need a new forum name! At this stage i can't go into detail about an offer thats been made but i will explain all within the next day or two. At this stage what we're looking at doing is to leave this site as a Warriors forum and offer a new site which is what the search for a new name is about. Whats your thoughts guys?

I'm happy to go along with the idea that you suggested in your previous post . It's been great the way you have welcomed all of us new members and made many changes to your Warriors forum. I was however worried that you were losing your Warriors identity. A separate forum set up for all footy fans is the way to go.That way you can keep your original Warrior forum members happy and I won't feel like we have barged in and taken over. Looking forward to hearing more news on this subject. Please don't tell us Punters Paradise want a piece of the action. In my books they are public enemy number one.

Yes the more i looked at the situation the more i was wondering how to keep the Warriors site identity in tact while offering everyone an online home. I wasn't looking forward to losing the hundreds of hours of work i've put into the player profiles and warriors season reviews. So Paul, our site co-owner came up with the idea of setting a fresh site and keep the Warriors forum as is. So with that in mind get voting people because you all have a stake in the new site and that stake starts with the name you want for the site. And H, no one has barged in, you are all welcome on either site for as long as you want to stay. You have an online home with us that's not going away or going.
Couple of things i can say is that i've been talking with Morkel and he has come up with a professional quality looking site logo. I'm hoping he'll continue that good work and make a forum banner for us.

The goal is growth: more members, topics and posts. This requires ease of use.

So, if severing the site in two, rather than just changing the name to something not specific to a single team is being looked at, then there is a clever way to that: Two sites, one phpBB database.

see: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=2160370

With two sites, one phpBB database,

1) Insular “Warriors only” fans – some of whom may be at LU already – have an option to visit this site in the original Warriors only format and enjoy the hard work that went into it,

2) The well adjusted more sociable league fans will go to the new site to discus the team(s) of there choice. If one of those teams is the Warriors (H, SJ and Knitey etc, post in the Warriors forum), then for ease-of-use purposes and completeness, there should be a Warriors discussion forum at the new site too.

Duplication is avoided (content, 2 x login accounts, and 2 x moderators) because phpBB supports the same forum content at more than one site.

I don't foresee much growth for a Warriors-only site until the Warriors start playing well, so late 2014 at the earliest.

The simplest thing to do seems to be to a) change the site name along the competition lines, b) use the old site name for a re-direction page to send any residual traffic to the new site name and c) cut and paste any of the current Warriors-specific aspects of the site into the Warriors team sub-forum.

Just a suggestion.
