Site identity

Postby Northern_Union » Thu Apr 11, 2013 2:12 pm

Hi guys. With the recent influx of new members i think it only fair that thought be given to the possibility of a rename and re-branding. Ideally i'd like to keep a certain Warriors look and feel the site but rename it to something more inclusive of all the fans and clubs. This would mean a new name and new banners for the site. Neither of which is a big deal and easily achieved. What are every ones thoughs?

A good idea but it will be hard to think of a suitable name for a forum that covers all sorts of footy and still retain it Warriors roots. Still there are plenty of active members here now I'm sure we'll come up with a few good suggestions.

Yep any suggestions for a new site name along with the Twitter and facebook site would be appreciated. What i think we'll do is gather some suggestions from everyone over the next 2 to 3 weeks and have a private vote open to members only and decide a name for us that way. When we have made our decision i'll change the domain name and get someone with a little graphics talent to make us some new banners.

"The Saints ... and Others Forum" ... ;)

No, seriously ... maybe a more generic name but keep the Warriors in their own section - it was a Warriors site after all!

Maybe move Warriors to just below the NRL area - but stand alone.

If you did this then maybe combine the European Forum with the World one. Move the Holden Cup to below the NRL and Warriors. Give each of the NRL teams a larger font - highlighted. Add the local Kiwi league to the Warriors Forum - but highlighted - this would also free up space for the NRL Forum and larger Warriors Forum.

A few ideas:

Rugby League Grandstand.com.nz

The Big League.com.nz

NRL Grandstand.com.nz

Rugby League Today.com.nz

Or combinations of these ?

For SEO purposes i think we should try and keep the site to a .com name.

Yes. We need words like NRL, Rugby League, Forum etc in the title - for google purposes.

Yes - something simple but easy to find and might pop up in a search.

Oh thats very good. It proves that the SEO mod i installed is doing it's job for the Brisbane RL forum to show up on page one of google. Also great work from the BRL guys like H to get the site humming and viable to the net.

I looked a couple of days ago and it wasn't there but now it is. The only thing is though I think most people would google Brisbane 2nd division rather than Brisbane RL. When you type in Brisbane 2nd division our site here doesn't show up.
