Postby Northern_Union » Tue Apr 23, 2013 2:23 pm

Ladies and gentleman i'm proud to present to you all the newest rugby league site available to the web. You are more than welcome to post and enjoy the community there or carry on posting and enjoying yourself here. I shall be enjoying both sites. As promised to you neither will be disappearing and we envisage a very long life span for both sites.
So, the address for the new site is: www.http://whitelinefever.com/forum/ OR www.http://whitelinefever.com/forum/RugbyLeagueGrandstand/

A very big thank you to Morkel for the great logo and banner!!!

Further more the site where the forum is being run is owned by Paul. He and i co-own this site and the new site you are about to join and find out about. Paul has been working on his Whitelinefever.com site for sometime now and when it is completely ready it will be a one stop website for stats and general rugby league news. As you will find out some of the stats are now available for us at the new forum.

The site looks very good but it has me confused. Do you want the Qld / Brisbane RL forum to stay part of the Warriors site or move to the new site where I see there has been a section set aside for it. If you want us to go to the new site is it possible for all of the stuff posted on here in the Qld section to be moved there and a redirect for the members who have joined here.

The new site looks really good Steve, Paul, Morkel....well done all.

XenForo (new site software) and phpBB (this site's software) are both written in PHP with a MySQL data back end -- which is very convenient for my question also raised by H.

I realise it's early days and don't wish to seem critical, but am I right in thinking a data sync is planned so that the new site doesn't start from scratch with 0 threads/posts? One could expect SJ, H, Knitey, the Queensland 2nd division users and everyone who goes to the new site would appreciate finding their content ready for them when they arrive....?

I'm speculating here because I haven't seen the tables, but a few well chosen SQL commands or a data import/export should do the trick.

In any case I'm confident the new site will become a world beater. Congratulations and I'll do all I can to support your great work.

Cheers,
TerryG

The last 2 weeks setting up here have been hectic. The hardest part was contacting the old rleague members to come here. While I believe the new http://whitelinefever.com/forum/RugbyLeagueGrandstand/ is probably a better home for the Qld section rather than being on the Warriors site I do feel that it would be good to get all the Qld talk here shifted across to the other site. In the past 2 weeks I have made nearly 600 posts to get things up and running here, normally in 2 weeks I would do about 100. I don't really want to spend hours trying to do it all over again over on the new site.

Also I cant sign up using the name H on the new site. It wont let me because character names need to be at least 3 letters long.

Both sites are available for you guys to post in. If you want to stay here and post about your BRL stuff then i'm all for that. If you want to leave and post about the BRL at the new site then thats ok too. As Terry suggests, without looking into it in any great depth, we could import your posts to the new site. Basically the new site is a catch all league site that we've built to try and fill the void left by the demise of rleague. As i have said you guys will always have an online home here with us, and thats a guarantee. But if you want to use the new site that is cool too, it to will not be going anyway. I'll certainly be posting at both.

No worries H. Still looking into weather the BRL threads and posts can be exported to the new site. I'm more than happy for you guys to continue posting your BRL content here.
