Pushing up membership: Don't know if this has been tried before but.....

Most of the Players have something called a twitter account and some of the accounts have many thousands of League Fan followers.

Shaun Johnson is https ://twitter.com/shaun_johnson90
Nathan Friend is https ://twitter.com/09friendy
Ben Matulino is https ://twitter.com/BenMatulino
There's a twitter hash tag #warriornation
Mt Smart has a twitter account etc.

How about on game day, we tweet something like “Best wishes from your most loyal fans, thenzwarriorsonline.com” to each players twitter account? It could make thenzwarriorsonline.com highly visible to many of the prospects we might want to attract. A hit rate of a few tenth's of a percent could bring in a stream of new members.

Perhaps we could even tweet a warm friendly challenge to the twitter account of visiting players in an effort to attract traffic to the game day Live Discussion threads in the expectation that some percentage will become regular posters?

Other than following the tweets of some favourite comedians, I've never thought much about getting some practical advantage out of Twitter. And while Krisnan Inu's twitter account is full of imbecilic gibberish and James Maloney's account is known to include deliberate mischief such as “Micheal Luck as signed with NQL” when he hadn't, etc...it maybe possible to use twitter as a cheap tool to drive up membership.

Any thoughts?

Great idea. Most of the players Twitter accounts are within their player profiles in the Warriors profile section of the site so finding the twitter account should be easy. How do we go about this, do we need to set up a twitter account?
