SUNSHINE COAST SEA EAGLES v NORTHERN PRIDE
Stockland Stadium on Sunday, April 14 – 2.30pm
Referee: Chris Anderson
Head to Head: Sunshine Coast 6 Northern Pride 3
Twitter: #intrustsupercup #ISC #SCSEvPRIDE

The formerly undefeated Northern Pride were brought back down to earth by Tweed Heads in Innisfail last weekend. Poor handling and last-minute team changes didn’t help the Pride’s cause, but the unfancied Seagulls dominated most aspects of play on their way to a well deserved victory. The Pride’s opposition this week – the Sunshine Coast – were also brought to a thudding halt after they
were at the receiving end of a comprehensive 36-10 defeat by the Magpies. A return home to Stockland Stadium will give them a chance to refocus for the tough challenge against the Pride. Sea Eagles coach Dave Cordwell has made one change, with Brendan Adams coming in for Stephen Tunnicliffe on the bench. Like last week, the Far North Queensland team has again made a number of changes to their side for this weekend’s match. Mervyn Walker has been selected to make his Intrust Super Cup debut with the Pride while Ricky Thorby, Aidan Smith, Kyle Feldt, Davin Crampton and Stephen Snitch have all been named to return after missing the loss to the Tweed. The Pride have won three of the past four games between the two sides. However, the Sunshine Coast have had the most recent success, winning their match at Kawana last year. This will also be the 50th Cup game for the Sunshine Coast’s Brenton Stonier (formerly with Norths and Souths Logan).

QRL Media tips: Northern Pride by 10. The Northern side have a good record against the Sea Eagles, and although they will be tough at home; the Pride should come away with the win if they improve on their handling effort from last weekend.
